Stop trace dump

Filed under: Oracle internals — sundar5 @ 10:23 pm

How to stop on-going trace file dump in the oracle directories.

1. Get the process number from trace file.

Example :
-rw-rw—-  1 dba      178684034 Jan 29 17:02 test2_diag_18701.trc

2. 18701 is the process number from trace file.

SQL> oradebug setospid 18701
Oracle pid: 3, Unix process pid: 18701, image: oracle@test2.midumy.yamycom.com (DIAG)
SQL> oradebug close_trace;
Statement processed.
